A bit about me.
With over 30 years of experience in print, web, and creative design, my journey started with a love for art and skateboarding. Some friends and I began designing skateboard graphics, painstakingly hand-drawing and inking every detail—including the lettering. Later, I discovered Adobe Illustrator 6, and that opened the door to the digital world, sparking my interest in web design.
After earning a 4.0 GPA and an associate degree through the fast-track program at Provo College, I landed my first job at Phone Directories—you know, the people who made phone books! We had just 15 minutes (and three strikes) to create entire ads from scratch, complete with graphics and copy. It was a crash course in balancing creativity with speed, and it taught me how to thrive in high-pressure situations. It’s also where I finally learned how to type!
These days, as the Director of Web and Interactive Design at Utah Valley University, I focus on UI/UX and web design, blending storytelling with functionality to create user-friendly experiences. Outside of work, I’m passionate about music, drawing, lettering, and photography. I love experimenting with both modern and vintage lenses, which I also enjoy collecting. My hobbies also include skateboarding, hiking, and building things—whether it’s a project or just something fun.
I’m always looking for opportunities to collaborate and grow while doing what I love. Let’s connect! ✌️
